Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design and analysis of Stage 1 Tank structures for New Glenn at our Merritt Island facility. You will own the full design cycle, perform FEA, develop CAD packages, and coordinate with multi-functional teams across sites to meet schedules and qualification requirements.

The role requires 3–5+ years in engineering, a B.S. in a mechanical/structural field, and hands-on production floor experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials and statics.
• Experience with large primary or secondary structures.
• Proficiency in GD&T and design for manufacturability.
• Hands-on production floor experience and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering scope to close including planning, design, structural analysis, engineering release, procurement, and test.
• Own the full design cycle of structural components.
• Develop and maintain CAD drawings and definitions.
• Support procurement activities and vehicle build schedules.
• Support tests objectives, data review, and reporting.
• Perform emergent analysis for non-conformances.
• Participate in subsystem testing planning and data analysis.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams across sites.
