Job summary
Thornton Tomasetti in Chicago is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Structural Practice. You will lead teams, ensure delivery of complex technical projects, and support business development with existing and new clients for government, sports, healthcare, commercial and mission critical buildings.
Responsibilities include coordinating project planning, directing staff, preparing contract documents, and performing analysis and design of structural systems using building codes.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Master’s degree in structural or civil engineering preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Lead direction, coordination, planning, and completion of engineering projects within area of responsibility.
- Engage in business development with existing and new clients to win projects and communicate requirements.
- Plan and organize project staff according to requirements.
- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for various building types using codes.
- Manage design team members and supervise engineers and draftspeople.
- Direct staff in preparing contract drawings and specifications.
