Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior Associate for our Construction Engineering Practice. You will lead major projects involving complex analysis and design of industrial structures, while cultivating client relations and expanding market opportunities.

You will drive technical excellence, guide teams, and shape firm strategy through mentorship and proactive leadership across diverse projects and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure is preferred.
• 10+ years of construction engineering experience with a track record of leading complex projects.
• Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, provide strategic guidance, drive business development, and contribute to growth of the practice.
• Leadership that inspires teams through mentoring, empowerment, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision of large or complex building projects, setting direction and defining best-in-class solutions.
• Serve as the primary client partner, building trusted relationships and strategic impact.
• Lead and grow high-performing teams, managing technical and management responsibilities across staff.
• Drive new business and market presence through proposal development, thought leadership, and industry engagement.
• Shape firm strategy and advise senior leadership on opportunities, markets, and trends.
• Deepen technical expertise, build client trust, and expand the firm’s market visibility.
• Oversee project financials, schedules, and quality to align with firm objectives.
