Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Houston, TX seeks a lead civil/structural engineer with extensive experience to supervise and direct a team of engineers and designers. You will be responsible for delivering civil/structural work on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, serving as a technical specialist on complex assignments.

Responsibilities include estimating, design criteria development, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• 20+ years of relevant industrial civil/structural experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving all civil/structural deliverables.
• Validating professional service and construction estimates at project start and tracking changes.
• Producing professional service estimates per department standards for project deliverables.
• Establishing design criteria, incorporating client requirements, and ensuring permitting requirements are met.
• Leading and organizing team work and communicating plans to staff and client.
• Maintaining control of project budget, schedule, and quality via project controls.
• Delegating work to engineers and designers and ensuring progress and quality.
• Consulting with discipline leaders to ensure efficient progress and quality.
• Producing preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimation.
• Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies to optimize solutions.
• Producing construction specifications and checking drawings for conformance.
• Leading training and professional development of staff.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate civil/structural efforts within scope, schedule, and budget.
