Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You’ll guide technical direction, mentor staff, and ensure solutions meet performance and constructability standards.

The role is heavily client- and contractor-facing, with travel and a hybrid work model. Ideal candidates have deep mission-critical engineering expertise and strong leadership to drive delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states.
• Knowledge of CAD software: AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, S3D.
• Experience with structural analysis software: RISA, RamSS, STAAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects, including new builds and retrofits.
• Provide technical direction, ensure design governance, and mentor junior/ senior staff.
• Coordinate with clients, upper management, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Perform complex structural analyses and oversight of calculations and foundations.
• Oversee model development, modeling standards, and constructible design solutions.
