Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior subject matter expert in the Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You will drive technical direction, mentor staff, and ensure designs meet performance and constructability standards.

The role is heavily client- and contractor-facing, requiring strong communication across diverse teams and a track record of leadership in mission-critical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer with potential to become registered in additional states.
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects (new builds and retrofits).
• Mentor structural leads and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Support clients and management with project status and design strategy.
• Review complex calculations and ensure code-compliant, constructible designs.
• Guide design-build delivery methodology and cross-disciplinary coordination.
