Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office. You will participate in the design process, develop calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA), and prepare design drawings and specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

The role requires 12+ years of post-education experience, a BS in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, and proficiency with relevant codes.

Qualifications

• Sole US citizenship required.
• B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of post-education experience.
• Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with seismic emphasis.
• Experience with IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE codes.
• Proficient in finite element software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn new software as needed.
• Works well in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design process and develop calculations using standard and advanced analysis techniques (FEA).
• Develop design drawings and construction specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Contribute to tackling new design challenges and expand career skills.
