Job summary

Kforce is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN to lead design and analysis for nuclear and commercial projects. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams to ensure robust structural solutions and regulatory compliance.

The role demands extensive experience in civil/structural design, advanced calculations, and familiarity with ASME/ACI/ASCE/AISC codes. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• 7+ years of nuclear design project structural engineering experience.
• Experience with ASME, ACI, ASCE and AISC codes.
• Experience in seismic and impact-based dynamic analyses.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and oversee infrastructure project construction and maintenance.
• Overall design and analysis of safety and non-safety related structures for nuclear and commercial projects.
• Interfaces with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams for structural design.
• Apply codes, standards and regulatory guidance to ensure design is compliant.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations including FEA to meet project/code requirements.
• Prepare and review design documents, plant modifications, and coordination with designers.
