Job summary

Amentum is a global leader delivering advanced engineering for defense, energy, and civilian sectors. We seek a Senior Structural Designer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office with BIM modeling, design drawings, and construction documents for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or nuclear projects, proficiency in Revit/Tekla, and a solid understanding of AISC/ACI/IBC standards.

Qualifications

• Sole US citizenship required by government regulations.
• 12+ years of industrial, commercial, and/or nuclear project experience.
• Able to follow established quality procedures and maintain procedural compliance.
• Competence using Microsoft Office software.
• Able to learn new software as necessary for project success.
• Experience using Revit and/or Tekla for BIM modeling and drawing production.
• Working knowledge of design standards (AISC, ACI, IBC).
• Ability to resolve interdisciplinary model clashes at a basic level.
• Experience detailing steel and concrete drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations.
• Use of 3D model coordination (Navisworks).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design process and develop BIM models.
• Produce construction drawings and documents for steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Resolve interdisciplinary model clashes and ensure code compliance.
