Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to support the Oak Ridge, TN office, performing design calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures with seismic emphasis. The role involves FE analysis, BIM utilization, and collaboration on challenging projects.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of post-education experience, ABET-accredited BS, and knowledge of IBC/AISC/ACI/ASCE codes.

Qualifications

Sole US citizenship required.
B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school.
12+ years of post-education experience.
Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure procedural compliance.
Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.
Experience implementing local and national codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI and ASCE.
Ability to use finite element software.
Competence using Microsoft Office software.
Ability to learn new software as necessary for project success.
Comfort working in fast-paced environment where requirements may evolve throughout projects.

Responsibilities

Participate in the design process and develop calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques.
Develop design drawings and construction specifications for structures of steel, concrete, and masonry.
Collaborate on new design challenges and help expand career skills while supporting infrastructure that benefits communities.
