Job summary

Amentum seeks a Structural Engineer for our Oak Ridge, TN area. You will participate in design, perform calculations using FEA, and develop drawings and specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures. The role supports projects across the United States.

Qualifications include ABET-accredited BS, 3–12 years’ experience, and proficiency with design codes and FEA software. Hybrid/on-site work near Oak Ridge is expected, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Sole US citizenship required.
• BS in Structural/Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• 3–12 years of post-education experience.
• Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.
• Experience with IBC, AISC, ACI and ASCE codes.
• Ability to use finite element software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn new software as needed.
• Comfort in fast-paced environments and evolving requirements.
• Proficient in digital communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the design process and develop design calculations using standard and advanced analysis.
• Develop design drawings and construction specifications for structures.
• Contribute to projects in steel, concrete and masonry.
• Ensure compliance with established quality procedures and project requirements.
