Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Lead Structural Engineer for the Waterford, Connecticut site (Millstone Nuclear Power Plant). You will lead structural teams delivering complex designs, interface with clients and other disciplines, and supervise the preparation of design deliverables.

The ideal candidate holds a BSCE from an ABET-accredited program with 10+ years in industrial/nuclear structures, and is proficient with major analysis tools and design codes.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ten or more years of experience on industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide a team of structural engineers and interface with clients and other disciplines.
• Direct preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Supervise and mentor the development of quality engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and coordination.
