Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Lead Structural Engineer for the Surry Nuclear Power Station onsite in the United States. You will guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and other disciplines, and manage a variety of challenging projects.

The role requires an ABET-accredited BSCE in Structural Engineering, 10+ years in design/analysis of heavy industrial or nuclear structures, and proficiency with major structural software and design codes.

Qualifications

• BSCE in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Ten+ years on project teams designing industrial/heavy or nuclear structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards like ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a team of structural engineers on diverse projects.
• Interface with clients and other disciplines to coordinate design.
• Direct preparation and review of design calculations, specs, and reports.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers to ensure quality deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations; review outputs.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification.
