Burns & McDonnell in Atlanta seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design teams across power, process, healthcare, airports, and government facilities. You will drive projects from concept through construction, manage schedules and budgets, review vendor drawings, and mentor staff.

Requirements include strong knowledge of IBC/AISC/ACI/ASCE7, exceptional communication, and travel ability; PE is preferred. The role emphasizes delivering world-class designs and expanding client relationships.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited structural engineering degree with 7 years experience (EPC preferred).
• FE exam completed and 7 years structural engineering experience (EPC preferred).
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering with 6 years experience (EPC preferred).
• Expert knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7 codes; strong computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks.
• Ability to travel.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead structural design from conceptual phase to design completion.
• Prepare specifications, RFQs, bid summaries and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines.
• Manage project schedule, scope, budget, staffing and construction planning; control change orders.
• Quality review of drawings and field QA/QC coordination with field personnel.
• Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients.
• Prepare and present technical reports and cost proposals.
• Develop new business opportunities and client relationships; ensure customer satisfaction.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership.
