Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Irvine is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger projects, evaluating, selecting, and specifying engineered systems for a project.

The Senior Structural Engineer will guide junior engineers, collaborate with architects and other disciplines, and ensure construction administration activities are performed with precision and attention to client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• PE license required; SE license preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CSI, RISA, RAM.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Development of job specific-discipline specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform Construction Administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Perform calculations using standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Assist with development of design standards.
