Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger efforts. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineering systems, with emphasis on seismic design and coordination with multiple disciplines.

The role requires a PE (or SE) license, a minimum of 5 years in structural design, and hands-on experience with Revit and industry software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with CSI, RISA, RAM and other structural engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Lead junior engineers on complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform construction administration duties including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Develop job-specific specifications for less complex projects.
• Nurture client relationships and help develop design standards.
