Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Structural Designer in Santa Maria, CA to work independently on small and medium projects and to lead larger projects while guiding junior staff. The role requires strong knowledge of structural systems, codes, and seismic design, with collaboration across disciplines.

You will perform calculations, coordinate with architects and engineers, manage construction administration duties, and contribute to design standards and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Professional Engineering license is required.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Knowledge of CSI, RISA, RAM and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects
• Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines
• Perform Construction Administration duties including RFIs and submittal reviews
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients
• Deliver projects on time, on budget, with high client service
• Nurtures existing client relationships
• Assist with development of design standards
