Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting in Chicago seeks a Structural Engineer IV to lead complex structural projects within the Facilities Engineering group. You will own design work, guide junior engineers, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical solutions.

The role requires a Civil/Structural ABET-accredited degree, 5+ years of experience, and PE preferred with EIT required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and related tools is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil or structural engineering degree.
• 5+ years structural engineering experience.
• PE preferred, EIT required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis calculations per governing codes.
• Provide leadership to junior engineers and mentor staff.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams as Engineer of Record.
• Prepare CAD drawings or sketches for final drawings.
• Coordinate with clients and other professionals on projects.
• Present technical aspects to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage project schedule and budget through completion.
• Ensure compliance with applicable design codes and standards.
