Job summary

Nordmin Engineering Ltd. in Salt Lake City is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural teams on mining and industrial projects from concept through construction.

You will mentor EITs, design engineers and drafters, while partnering with senior management to advance the business objectives of the company. The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, US PE licensure, 15+ years of design and project management experience, and strong knowledge of US codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States; licensure in other states is a plus.
• 15+ years of experience in engineering design and management of structural systems.
• Strong knowledge of US codes and design standards for concrete, steel, wood, and masonry.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as S-Frame or equivalent.
• Proven project management experience and ability to lead teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; independent problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural and multidisciplinary teams on mining and industrial projects.
• Estimate hours, deliverables, resources, and develop project schedules.
• Assess strategic requirements with structural department management.
• Provide technical oversight, input, and mentorship to staff.
• Develop structural designs, calculations, seismic design, and writing specs.
• Ensure clear communication between disciplines and management.
• Conduct site visits and inspections; travel ~10% of time.
