Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Minnesota seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary projects from concept and design through installation.

You will manage budgets, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure compliance with safety standards while delivering reliable, cost‑effective structures. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a structural emphasis, Minnesota PE eligibility, and proven experience in mining or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis preferred.
• Mechanical Engineering degree considered with demonstrated experience.
• Ability to obtain a Minnesota PE license.
• Experience with project management and creation of work scopes.
• Experience with cost analysis and budgeting.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks with diverse teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects from concept to installation.
• Coordinate work with consultants, contractors, and operating staff.
• Develop five-year capital and maintenance plans for the facility.
• Produce design and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Support safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.

Education

Bachelors in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis
