Job summary

Nordmin Engineering Ltd. is actively seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mining-related surface infrastructure and mineral processing projects in Salt Lake City.

You will guide mechanical design from concept through detailed design, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery. The role requires a PE license in the US, 10+ years of mechanical design experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States. Eligibility to obtain licensure in additional US states is an asset. Canadian P.Eng. registration is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with mining or mineral processing projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Project.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, designs, and calculations for construction projects or studies.
• Prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement and installation.
• Lead a team of Designers and Engineers to develop design concepts and progress through detailed design.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to foster their professional growth and development.
• Contribute to the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design by coordinating with other disciplines on design requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews with clients.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, fostering repeat business opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities.
• Occasional travel to site for client meetings (10%).
