Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer IV to lead complex industrial and manufacturing projects from concept through detailed design and construction support. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Structural engineering coursework required for structural-focused positions.
• 6-10 years of relevant industrial civil/structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; may be required based on project needs.
• Strong understanding of structural design codes and industry standards including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs, engineering studies, and cost estimates for industrial and manufacturing projects.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed civil/structural designs, calculations, material take-offs, and construction documents.
• Perform structural analyses and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Review and check engineering calculations, drawings, and design packages for accuracy, code compliance, and quality.
• Coordinate with drafting, design, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project execution.
• Review vendor drawings, fabrication documents, and construction submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Develop construction specifications and support procurement activities.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and provide construction-phase engineering support.
• Identify design improvements, scope changes, and execution strategies to improve project outcomes.
• Lead civil/structural engineering efforts on projects while maintaining focus on scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Support work-sharing and coordination across multiple offices and project teams.
• Assist with project planning, staffing, scheduling, and engineering hour estimates.
