AEA Investors in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Structure Engineer to design and analyze structural systems for diverse building types. The role involves delivering complete design solutions from concept through construction and coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients.

The successful candidate will lead project teams, mentor junior staff, and perform both analytical and documentation work using ETABS, RAM, and RISA within IBC/ASCE standards. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• 12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in ETABS, RISA, RAM software.
• Strong knowledge of IBC and ASCE standards.
• U.S. citizenship; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to design structural systems.
• Provide complete design solutions from concept to construction.
• Lead and mentor other structural engineers.
• Design and analyze structures using finite element analysis and hand calculations.
• Develop design documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform construction administration tasks (submittals, RFIs, shop drawings).
• Coordinate with clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Assist with project planning, cost estimating, proposals, and management.
