Job summary

EAPC seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and detailing for new buildings, additions, and renovations. The role integrates with an in-house team of engineers, architects, and drafters to deliver structurally sound designs.

The position requires PE licensure and 8+ years of experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, plus strong communication and mentoring abilities. A company-focused, collaborative environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in the design and detailing of buildings and structures.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes related to the structural design of buildings and structures.
• Proficient with structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, or similar programs.
• Experience mentoring/training structural EITs.
• Ability to sign and stamp work and review others' work.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural design, detailing, and calculations for new designs and renovations.
• Coordinate structural designs with other disciplines like architectural and mechanical.
• Edit and write structural specifications.
• Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates as required.
• Mentor EIT staff.
• Direct CAD/Revit specialists to complete drawings.
• Conduct construction administration tasks including RFI responses and site visits.
• Visit sites to verify existing conditions.
• Assist project managers with budgets and schedules.
• Assist in determining project scope, deliverables, and fees for proposals.
