Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in the DC Metro area with a minimum of ten years of experience. The ideal candidate will lead design efforts for steel, concrete, and masonry projects and mentor a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing technical proposals, collaborating with architects and owners, and coordinating across Coffman offices. A PE/SE and ABET degree are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) is required.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with analysis software such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, Etabs, Enercalc.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects.
• Lead design team efforts and coordinate with architects/owners/contractors.
• Develop fee and qualification-based proposals; support business development.
• Collaborate with Coffman offices to complete projects and tasks.
• Travel as required to meet project needs.
