Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with at least ten years of experience for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leaders in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• Registration as a PE or SE is required.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with software such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, Etabs, Enercalc.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, design, and detailing on commercial & industrial projects.
• Design of steel, concrete, and masonry buildings (commercial/institutional, federal, industrial).
• Lead design team efforts and manage budgets/schedules.
• Develop fee and qualification-based proposals and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with architect, owner, and contractor to produce coordinated structural drawings.
• Travel as needed and contribute to business development.
