Job summary

Coffman Engineers seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate has 10+ years’ experience, a PE license, and strong leadership in multidisciplinary projects.

You’ll develop technical proposals, mentor staff, and work closely with clients to deliver consulting engineering services. Responsibilities include leading design efforts, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with architects, owners, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong verbal and written communication; project management experience is a plus.
• Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Local AHJ relationships and active industry involvement are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical systems for diverse projects.
• Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.
• Lead design team efforts and mentor staff.
• Develop fee-based and qualification-based proposals.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, and general contractors.
• Contribute to marketing/business development activities.
