Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join their established team in George. You will design and analyze structural elements for residential, commercial, and other building projects, ensuring safety and efficiency while collaborating with architects and construction teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural/Civil Engineering, PE registration or eligibility, and a minimum of 6 years’ experience with ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or eligibility.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design with a portfolio of completed building projects.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
• Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and timber and their applications.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new building projects using advanced engineering principles and software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for client and regulatory approval.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Investigate and report on existing building structures, recommending remediation or upgrade solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering technology and building codes.
