Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Structural Engineer to support federal construction and facility projects, including design reviews, site visits, and QA oversight.

The role requires collaborating with government personnel, design teams, and contractors to ensure safety and compliance. The position entails regular site visits to project sites, including Fort Hood, TX, and adherence to building codes and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience on federal construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the structural integrity of facilities.
• Review and recommend for approval structural design plans submitted by the design team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Provide recommendations for structural enhancements, if necessary.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of structural work.
• Verify that construction activities align with approved design plans.
• Address and resolve any structural issues that may arise during construction.
• Collaborate with the construction team to ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Attend project meetings to provide updates on structural aspects.
• Participate in design reviews and provide comments on contractor-submitted structural designs and plans.
• Provide quality assurance oversight and recommend corrective actions to ensure high-quality project performance.
• Provide safety oversight and support corrective actions to ensure worker and public safety.
• Assist in interpreting and enforcing contractual provisions regarding structural engineering requirements and deliverables.
• Document contractor progress and provide reports regarding construction activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related field
