Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking a talented Structural Engineer with 5+ years of progressive experience in Washington, DC. You will contribute to design, evaluation, and construction administration for complex structures, mentoring junior staff and leading project teams.

Qualifications

• MS in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS, NDS, and related codes.
• Proficiency in RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000 and Revit.
• PE license required; SE license preferred. Ability to travel to remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural evaluations, analyses, designs, and investigative engineering assignments.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications to maintain quality and code compliance.
• Manage projects from concept through construction, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide construction-phase support and mentor junior engineers.
• Build strong client relationships through technical excellence and responsive service.
