Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) seeks a Consulting Engineer II to lead structural evaluations, repair design, and project management for building rehabilitation projects.

The role requires a MS in Structural Engineering, SE licensure, and 5+ years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry and wood structures. Proficiency in ETABS, SAP, and related software is essential. Travel to sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
• MS in Structural Engineering and PE/SE licensure (SE) required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proposals experience.
• Ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and client contacts.
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Work on a wide range of structural projects focusing on repair/rehabilitation of existing buildings.
• Plan and conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
• Execute construction-administration phase including bid review and site meetings.
• Manage project budgets and schedules, mentor junior staff, interact with clients.
• Prepare technical reports and construction documents; travel to remote sites as needed.
