Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) in Washington, DC, seeks a Structural Engineer with 8+ years to join our Structures Division, focusing on design, evaluation, repair, and forensic investigations of challenging infrastructure and building projects. You'll mentor junior engineers, develop drawings and specifications, coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help manage scope, budget, and schedule.

A PE is required; SE license preferred, and willingness to travel to remote job sites.

Qualifications

• MS in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• PE liciense required; SE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural evaluations, analyses, designs, and forensic investigations.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage projects from concept through construction, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Provide construction-phase support and respond to RFIs and site observations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support professional development.
