Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is a national engineering firm seeking a senior leader to direct design and investigation of structures, spanning high-rise, long-span, temporary and historic projects. The successful candidate will mentor staff, manage projects end-to-end, and drive new business with clients and industry partners.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, California licensure as an S.E., 15+ years of structural experience, and demonstrated business

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in California requested.
• 15+ years of experience in structural engineering including investigations and design.
• Experience providing litigation support with expert witness testimony is a plus.
• Strong leadership, client relationship building, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the design and investigation of structures across sectors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists.
• Manage and deliver projects from concept through completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Cultivate relationships with clients and stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
