Job summary

EAPC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design activities for new buildings and renovations within a multidisciplinary in-house team. You will coordinate with architects, MEP, and drafting staff to ensure accurate, code-compliant structures.

The role includes mentoring EITs, developing budgets, preparing specifications, and performing site and construction administration tasks. A competitive benefits package accompanies this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience in the design and detailing of buildings and structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes related to structural design.
• Proficient with RAM, RISA, Enercalc or similar programs.
• Experience mentoring/training structural EITs.
• Ability to sign/stamp your own work and review others' work.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and US visa sponsorship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural design, detailing, and calculations for new, additions, and renovations.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, civil disciplines.
• Edit and write structural specifications.
• Conduct structural investigations and feasibility studies with reports and cost estimates.
• Mentor and train EIT-level staff.
• Direct CAD/Revit specialists to complete drawings.
• Conduct construction administration: review shop drawings, RFIs, and site visits.
• Site visits to verify existing conditions and dimensions.
• Assist PMs in budgeting and scheduling for design work.
• Assist department manager with project scope, deliverables, and fees for proposals.
