Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a Structural Engineer to perform civil/structural design across small and large projects. You will work under supervision in our Pasadena office, contributing to calculations, drawings, and coordination with drafting and other disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree with 3+ years of experience and prefers a Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• Requires 3+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of IBC and related standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI).
• Proficient with STAAD Pro, RAM Structural System, AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication and virtual team skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design of civil/structural engineering assignments under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Create design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Check calculations for accuracy and conformance to codes and criteria.
• Assist drafting in resolving layout and detailing issues.
• Coordinate with design leaders to ensure timely project completion.
• Lead small to medium teams coordinating civil/structural efforts.
