Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Senior Structural Designer in Anchorage, AK to work independently on small/medium projects and lead larger ones. You will evaluate, specify engineered systems, and coordinate with other disciplines.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience, a Bachelor's in engineering, PE license, and Pro/E proficiency with Revit. Office setup supports collaboration, design standards, and client-focused delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit) and structural software (CSI, RISA, RAM).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Lead junior engineers on complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other disciplines.
• Perform Construction Administration duties (RFI responses, submittals, change orders).
• Perform calculations with standard and proprietary software.
• Communicate design issues with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry design processes and construction means/methods.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget with high client service.
• Nurture existing client relationships.
• Assist with development of design standards.
