Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Structural Designer to contribute to planning, site evaluations and the preparation of proposal and construction drawings. You will work within a project team on diverse project types and clients, producing detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for steel and reinforced concrete structures.

The role requires advanced software skills (Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit Civil, Navisworks, Excel) and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field, with relevant experience.
• Associate degree in drafting technology or related field, with substantial experience.
• Advanced knowledge of design software and structural drafting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to apply design codes and deliverables to projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed construction drawings for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Produce a full range of drawing production work and design calculations.
• Execute designs on projects for power generation clients and other facilities.
• Perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling using established software.
• Prepare structural calculations and interpret applicable design codes.
• Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings and related information.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and designers to resolve issues.
