Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti, a global engineering firm, invites an Associate to join our Structural Practice in Dallas. You will lead teams, ensure delivery of complex technical projects, and support client relationships across high-rise, retrofit, transportation and education projects.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of structural engineering experience, a Master’s degree preferred, and a proven ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines while guiding staff and coordinating contract documents.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Demonstrated project and staff management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead direction, coordination, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
• Participate in business development activities with existing and new clients to help win new projects, and communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
• Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
• Directs project staff in preparing contract documents, such as drawings and specifications.
