Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Structural Engineer in Tucson, AZ, onsite. The role focuses on detailed structural analysis of high temperature materials, leveraging PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS, and close collaboration with the MA&T team to support development and production programs.

Security clearance is required for this U.S.-based role. The candidate will lead analyses, define test plans, and present findings to customers and internal stakeholders, traveling as needed to test sites and reviews.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
• Experience in high temperature material systems for hypersonic aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and testing to support all phases of programs.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
• Act as a technical leader and help define MA&T department processes and tools.
