Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Principal Structural Engineer, High Temp Materials, to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) department onsite.

You will lead detailed structural analyses across development and production programs, applying high-temperature materials expertise and FEM tools to deliver robust designs.

This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance; relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 10+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Experience in structural analysis software (PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS) and related tools.
• Experience with CMH-17 guidelines in aerospace structures.
• Experience with high temperature material systems for hypersonic aerospace.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and testing to support all program phases.
• Lead data collection and plan tests to address material understanding gaps.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads.
• Lead peer reviews and present results to stakeholders and customers.
• Travel to test sites to support discussions; act as MA&T technical leader.
