Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Structural Engineer, High Temp Materials, to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test team in Tucson, AZ. You will perform advanced structural analyses on high-temperature materials (refractory metals, ceramics, CMCs) and support all program phases from concept to production.

The role requires extensive FE analysis experience, knowledge of high-temp materials, and the ability to lead peer reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or a related advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Experience in structural analysis using FE tools and CMH-17 guidelines.
• Experience with high temperature material systems for hypersonic aerospace.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and testing across programs.
• Collect material data and design tests to close knowledge gaps.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate loads/environments.
• Lead technical peer reviews and present results to stakeholders.
