Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a seasoned structural engineer to perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses on aerospace structures, supporting production and sustainment. The role emphasizes solving discrepancies, documenting stress analyses, and guiding repairs for metallic and composite structures across programs.

You will communicate technical results, mentor teammates, and collaborate across groups. Relocation/travel up to 15% may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace/mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in aircraft/spacecraft/launch-vehicle structures.
• Hands-on experience with nonconformances and disposition.
• Complete hand calculations for loads and reactions.
• Knowledge of materials and structural analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Detailed hand calc and FEM analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
• Drive hardware discrepancies to resolution and disposition nonconformances.
• Document stress analyses to support release of drawings and docs.
• Understand repair methods for metallic/composite structures.
• Assess damage and provide repair guidance.
• Provide technical design guidance balancing risk, cost, and performance.
• Maintain and report technical status; participate in tests and data analysis.
• Prepare content and present to internal/external customers.
• Support cross-organizational teams with production input and config development.
• Mentor junior analysts and check stress/stability analyses.
