Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural analyst to perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses of space launch vehicle structures. The role involves documentation, design guidance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight.

The candidate will contribute throughout design, assembly, testing, and flight operations, with a strong emphasis on quality and on-site production support at our facilities in Washington.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; MS preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in aerospace/space structures or related fields.
• Proficiency with Nastran/Optistruct/Ansys and reading/manipulating input files.
• FEM modeling techniques and aerospace structural requirements knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
• Document stress analyses to support engineering drawings and documents release.
• Provide technical guidance on design concepts, balancing risk, cost, and performance.
• Maintain production schedules and provide status updates across teams.
• Onsite support for production shifts and cross-organizational collaboration.
