Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to join our Engineering department.

This role focuses on autonomously performing complex static stress analyses on airframe structures and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure structural integrity throughout the aircraft lifecycle. The successful candidate will mentor junior analysts, lead technical materials preparation, and deliver high-quality design solutions while operating on-site in Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering with emphasis on structural design and mechanics of materials.
• 9 years total experience in static stress analysis with airframe structures.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, technical documentation, techniques and procedures.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Suite.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Working knowledge of Airbus Structures.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously perform complex analyses to verify structural integrity requirements.
• Conduct detail part sizing, layout maturation, trade studies, weight reduction efforts, certification, and in-service support.
• Document analyses for trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
• Coordinate with Design, Fatigue and other Airbus departments to develop optimal design solutions.
• Mentor and provide leadership to less experienced structural analysts.
• Lead preparation of complex technical material and presentation packages.
• Take ownership of objectives with deadlines and work independently.
• Lead discussions on issues, solutions, and project status.
