Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a Principal Stress Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will analyze static stress for aircraft primary structures, collaborating with design and fatigue teams to deliver high strength-to-weight solutions.

Applicants should hold a BS in Engineering and have extensive experience in static stress analysis of airframe structures, with proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite. On-site work on the Wichita campus is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with emphasis on structural design and mechanics of materials.
• 13 years total experience in static stress analysis with airframe structures.
• Deep knowledge of engineering principles, documentation and procedures.
• Strong computing skills (MS Office and Google Suite).
• Authorized to Work in the US and familiarity with Airbus structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform static stress analyses for metallic and non-metallic airframe parts.
• Collaborate with design and fatigue teams to deliver high strength-to-weight structures.
• Document analyses for trade studies and sign-offs on drawings.
• Guide analysis development and share expertise with others.
