Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks a Strength Analyst in Denver to perform structural analysis for propulsion and upper-stage components. You will assess strength, fatigue, and fracture, build models, and support design reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 4+ years of related experience, a bachelor’s in engineering, and expertise in NASGRO/ABAQUS, NASTRAN, MATLAB, and NX. A relocation option and a 9/80 schedule are possible benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Ability to make design recommendations based on analysis results/experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • General understanding of materials and material properties.
  • Experience with Structural Analysis (Tanks, Adapters, Brackets).
  • Experience analyzing propulsion hardware (tubing, ducting, flex joints).
  • Experience with NASGRO fracture mechanics tool and ABAQUS.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Understanding of fatigue/fracture analysis tools and methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Support Vulcan Development activities including Centaur V on SLS for Artemis.
  • Perform strength, fatigue and fracture analysis of structural components.
  • Create analysis models, perform hand calculations, and provide design inputs.
  • Review 3-D layouts, models, drawings and 2-D changes for propulsion and mechanical components.
  • Make engineering design recommendations considering thermal, mechanical and pressure loads.
  • Document analysis results in strength reports and support design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help develop team processes and capabilities.
  • Work independently and coordinate with product teams; participate in fast design/analysis cycles.
