Smithfield Foods in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Strategic Project Manager to lead large, cross-functional engineering projects in the pork and packaged-meat industry, applying science and math to deliver complex solutions.

You will develop budgets and schedules, coach multiple teams, communicate progress, and address regulatory issues to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. Travel is required; relocation is available, and Smithfield offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles related to food processing and the meat industry preferred.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsabilités

• Develops and executes the overall project to ensure success through team development, budgets, schedules, and risk management.
• Develops the overall budget through good engineering practices to enable informed decisions.
• Executes the project with pro-active budget control ensuring sub-teams manage their budgets.
• Develops the overall schedule and monitors progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Leads multiple teams and provides direction and oversight for project sections.
• Develops communication plans and reports project status to stakeholders.
• Continuously improves robotic and controls knowledge to execute innovative solutions.
