Smithfield Foods in the United States is seeking a Senior Strategic Project Manager to apply engineering principles to design and oversee large manufacturing projects across our brands. You will lead cross‑functional teams to deliver on scope, schedule and budget while optimizing production processes.

This role demands proactive problem solving, risk management, and strong communication to ensure safe, efficient operations and cost reductions. Travel is required with extended overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated team management or project leadership.
• Knowledge of food processing/meat industry preferred.
• PM skills in contracts, scheduling, and multi‑million dollar projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes the overall project plan with budgets, schedules and risk management.
• Monitors budgets and ensures sub-teams manage their costs.
• Develops the overall schedule to provide a realistic plan.
• Develops preliminary engineering designs and maintains project scope.
• Leads multiple teams and provides oversight and guidance.
• Develops communication plans to keep stakeholders informed.
• Continuously improves robotic and controls knowledge for innovative solutions.
