Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Strategic Project Manager to join our Engineering team. You will analyze data, draft implementation plans, and lead cross-functional groups to optimize production processes for Smithfield and related brands.

The role requires strong project management, budgeting, scheduling, and leadership skills, with travel to manufacturing sites as needed. You will mentor teams and drive cost-efficient improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles in food processing and meat industry preferred.
• Strong communication, budgeting, scheduling and risk management skills.
• Ability to manage multi-million dollar projects and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes project budgets, schedules, and scope.
• Leads multiple teams and provides direction to ensure project success.
• Communicates status and risks with proactive solutions.
• Applies engineering principles to operational and design issues.
