Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a senior Storm Water Engineer in the Storm Water Services Engineering and Design Division. You will lead complex storm drainage projects, mentor project managers, and manage consultants to deliver design and construction solutions.

The role requires expert knowledge in stormwater infrastructure and project management, with strong leadership and communication skills. You will work within a collaborative city department dedicated to safe water systems, quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with five (5) years of progressive work experience in planning, design, and construction of storm drainage systems.
• Experience leading project teams and managing consultants.
• Strong knowledge of storm drainage design principles and ability to interpret complex reports.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and provide high level technical support to Project Managers for planning, design, and construction of storm drainage improvement projects.
• Independently manage engineering consultants on planning, design, and construction administration of drainage projects.
• Perform contract management activities including scope, schedule, and fees; liaise with consultants as needed.
